Terms of Service

Effective Date: September 20, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

ImmSight is operated by ImmSight LLC ("ImmSight," "we," "us," "our"). By accessing and using ImmSight ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to these Terms of Service, please do not use the Service.

The Service is not directed to children under 13. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

2. Description of Service

ImmSight provides immigration case tracking, analytics, and community discussion features to help users monitor USCIS case statuses, understand processing times and Visa Bulletin movement, and engage with the immigration community. We also send case-update, community and service notifications by email and inside the app, according to your notification preferences.

3. User Accounts and Registration

3.1. Account Creation: You may create an account by signing in with Google, or by requesting a one-time sign-in link that we email to you. Sign-in links work once and expire after 15 minutes. There is no password. You are responsible for keeping control of the Google account and email inbox you use to sign in. You can link a Google account to an email-only ImmSight account in Settings.

3.2. Accurate Information: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information as necessary.

3.3. Account Security: You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. Settings shows the devices signed in to your account and lets you sign any of them out. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

4. Acceptable Use

4.1. You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms and the Community Guidelines.

4.2. Cases you may track: ImmSight retrieves case status from USCIS on your behalf. You agree to add only receipt numbers for cases that are your own or that you are authorized to monitor (for example, you are the applicant, the petitioner, or the applicant's representative). Do not add receipt numbers you obtained by guessing, enumerating, or from lists you are not authorized to use.

4.3. You agree NOT to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe upon the rights of others
  • Post false, misleading, or malicious content
  • Post another person's personal information, including receipt numbers that are not yours to share
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
  • Transmit viruses, malware, or harmful code
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Use automated systems (bots) to access the Service, or circumvent our rate limits, without permission

5. User Content

5.1. Ownership: You retain ownership of content you post (case notes, community posts, comments, your display name and profile photo).

5.2. License: By posting content, you grant ImmSight a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content in connection with the Service.

5.3. Public Content: Community posts, comments, your display name and your profile photo are public. They can be read by anyone on the internet, including people without an ImmSight account. Reaction counts are public, but who reacted is not shown. Your case notes and case labels are private to you.

5.4. Content Standards: Your content must not contain illegal material, infringe on intellectual property, or violate the rights of others. Display names are checked against a prohibited-word list, and every profile photo you upload is reviewed by our staff before it is shown to other users.

5.5. Content Removal: We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms or the Community Guidelines or is otherwise objectionable. Any user can report a post or comment to us for review.

6. USCIS Data and Case Information

6.1. Data Source: Case status information is obtained from the official USCIS Case Status API, using credentials USCIS issued to ImmSight, and only for the receipt numbers our users add. Visa Bulletin data comes from the U.S. Department of State, and immigration news comes from the USCIS news feed. Processing-time and cohort analytics are computed by ImmSight from the cases our users track; producing them sends nothing to USCIS.

6.2. No Guarantees: We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of case status information. Cases are refreshed on a schedule and when you sign in, so the status shown may lag USCIS. Always verify critical information directly with USCIS.

6.3. Not Legal Advice: ImmSight does not provide legal advice. Consult with a qualified immigration attorney for legal guidance.

6.4. No Government Affiliation: ImmSight is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, operated by, or endorsed by USCIS, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of State, or any government agency.

7. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our data practices. Key points:

  • We collect and store your email address to sign you in, send case updates, security notifications, legal notices and service-related messages. You may manage notification preferences in Settings; security and legal notices cannot be turned off.
  • We do not sell or rent your personal data.
  • Community participation uses your chosen display name; your email is not displayed publicly.
  • You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion has a 14-day grace period, after which your personal data is permanently deleted.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1. Service Ownership: The Service, including its design, features, software, and content (excluding user content), is owned by ImmSight and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

8.2. Limited License: We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on a small number of third-party services: Google (sign-in), Resend (email delivery), Cloudflare (network delivery and security filtering), and the government data sources described in Section 6. The Service may also contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party services. The Service does not display third-party advertising.

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

10.1. AS-IS Basis: THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

10.2. No Immigration Guarantees: We make no warranties regarding immigration outcomes, case processing times, or USCIS decisions.

10.3. Limitation of Liability: TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IMMSIGHT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ImmSight from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

12.1. By You: You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Your account is deactivated immediately and we email you a one-time restoration link. If you do not use that link within 14 days, your account and personal data are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. Your community posts and comments remain visible and are shown as authored by "Deleted User".

12.2. By Us: We may suspend or ban your account, or remove your content, immediately and without prior notice for conduct that we believe violates these Terms, the Community Guidelines, or is harmful to other users or the Service.

12.3. Effect of Termination: Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall survive.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Every change is published as a new numbered version with its own Effective Date, both shown at the top of this page.

We will get your active consent for changes:

  • You will receive an email notification when these Terms are updated with a plain-language summary of what changed
  • When you next use the Service, you will be prompted to review and accept the new Terms
  • You must actively accept the updated Terms to continue using the Service
  • If you do not accept, you may delete your account from Settings instead

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

14.1. Governing Law: These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of any mandatory consumer-protection law of the place where you live.

14.2. Venue: Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of New York, and you and ImmSight each consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. Either of us may still bring an individual claim in a small claims court that has jurisdiction.

15. General Provisions

15.1. Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Community Guidelines, constitute the entire agreement between you and ImmSight regarding the Service.

15.2. Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

15.3. No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver.
