Community Guidelines

ImmSight's community is a place to compare timelines, share experience, and support others going through immigration processes. These guidelines keep it that way.

01

Be respectful and supportive

Members come from many backgrounds and immigration paths. Treat every person with empathy, especially when they are sharing case anxieties, delays, or denials.

  • ·Disagree with ideas, not people. No personal attacks, slurs, or harassment.
  • ·Avoid mocking accents, English fluency, country of origin, or visa category.
  • ·Assume good faith — many members are navigating the system for the first time.

02

Share accurate information

ImmSight is used to make real decisions about real cases. Misinformation can cost members money, time, and status.

  • ·Cite official sources (USCIS, DOS, federal register) when stating policy.
  • ·Mark your case-specific anecdotes as your experience, not legal advice.
  • ·If you're not sure, say so — saying "I'm not certain" is more helpful than guessing confidently.
  • ·ImmSight staff and members are not your attorneys. For legal questions, consult a licensed immigration attorney.

03

No spam or self-promotion

The community is for genuine discussion, not marketing or referrals.

  • ·No paid services, consultancies, lead-gen, or referral codes.
  • ·No reposting the same content across categories or threads.
  • ·No off-topic links, affiliate links, or crypto/financial pitches.
  • ·Sharing a useful free resource is fine — sharing your business is not.

04

Protect personal information

Posts are visible to other tracked-case users. Treat the forum like a public space.

  • ·Never post receipt numbers, A-numbers, passport numbers, SSNs, or full addresses.
  • ·Don't share other members' personal details without their consent.
  • ·Redact screenshots before uploading — case status pages contain identifiers.
  • ·Photos of physical documents (NOAs, EADs, green cards) should be cropped or blurred.

05

Follow forum rules

These ground rules keep the space useful for everyone, regardless of category or topic.

  • ·Post in the right category. Family questions go in Family, employment in Employment, and so on.
  • ·Use a clear, descriptive title. "I-485 RFE — biographic info" beats "HELP!!!".
  • ·Search before posting — your question may already be answered.
  • ·No illegal content, including advice on misrepresentation, document fraud, or unauthorized work.

Reporting & enforcement

How we enforce these rules

Posts and replies that break these guidelines may be hidden, edited, or removed. Repeated or severe violations can result in restricted posting or account suspension.

  • ·Use the report option on a post or reply to flag content for moderator review. Moderators are alerted right away and aim to review every report within 24 hours.
  • ·For urgent privacy issues (a leaked receipt number, doxxing, threats), email [email protected].
  • ·Moderation decisions are final, but you can appeal an action by replying to the notice you received.

These guidelines may evolve as the community grows. Continued use of the community means you agree to follow the latest version.
